My Hobby
One of my interests is in the field of automotives. As a college student, I simply could not meet the time commitments of a part time job. In order to fund my college career, I started customizing my friends' vehicles. I used what I learned in engineering to build custom fiberglass speaker boxes, ram air intakes, and cosmetic vehicle components. I used my electronics knowledge to integrate additional speakers, amplifiers, and lighting into their vehicle. Lastly, I used my business knowledge to grow my hobby into a sufficient source of profit so that I would not have to work set hours at a part time job.

Using the interior dimensions of a 2001 Ford Explorer as constraints, I designed and modeled a custom speaker box to accomadate two twelve inch subwoofers. Calculations for air space, pressure ratings, and frequency response was done based on this model.
The skeleton model was modified based on optimizing calculations and built using medium-density fiber board.

Stripes were measured out from the center of the car using laser tools, tape measures, and leveling devices to ensure a perfect path.
The initial body is shown gel-coated with many flaws including a large crease where the mold was separated, several dents and humps, and pin holes throughout the body.
Body and fiberglass filler is applied and sanded till smooth.
